“CX World Championships Hoogerheide – a large crowd of fans witnessed an electrifying battle between Wout Van Aert and Mathieu van der Poel in Hoogerheide.” Rhode Van Elsen @rhode_photo

“Not much to be said here… Tom Pidcock, waving his Yorkshire flag in front of a home crowd to be crowned Elite Mens MTB World Champion” Piper Albrecht @piperalbrecht

“Shot for the Harbour Tour, a Grand Fondo passing through the enormous Rotterdam harbour. This brutalist structure is a ‘windbreaker’; it breaks the wind for the ships passing through the canals behind it, so they won’t have any problems.” Merlijn Spenkelink @merlingraphy

“Prior to a race, teams find spots around the start line to do the warmup sessions. Any town in Colombia will have pawn shops, but this one had the perfect name for what a bicycle means to me: “The treasure, a place where we value your jewels”” Juan Felipe Rubio @thebreakaway.co

“On June 6th NYC recorded as the city with the worst air quality in the world. The scenes through the city resembled images from the movie “Blade Runner”. It still didn’t stop the pedicab riders from going out and looking for tourists in Times Square.” Daghan Perker @dperker

“Everest, cycling. A 10 day route averaging 4.000m and altitude sickness being an ever-present concern. I had the opportunity to witness a group of thrill seekers conquering Everest Reserve. The day we scheduled to arrive there I asked the driver to drop me off, grabbing a spare bike and riding this final leg with the group. from all stages i simply couldn’t miss this one. No bib, no shoes, no helmet, just my trousers and a down jacket, camera on the back, I rode the last 65km up to 5.600m.” Vincent Engel @elevenspeedloservincent

“A young rider had a crash, his friend Jokingly holds his as they both laugh at Valley Preferred Cycling Center in PA.” Ron Short @shortcycles

“One of my favourites this is Fred Wright on his way to winning the British national road race championships only a couple of weeks after loosing his team mate Gino Mader in a crash at the Tour of Switzerland. I took a punt that the climb just short of the finsh line would be the best shot. This turned out to be a good call. The emotion and drive to win is there for all to see. He honoured his friend at the finish line.” Gary Main @garymainphotographer

“This photo was also taken at Rodeocross (A NorCal grassroots CX series every fall) during one of the men’s races. While experimenting with shutter drag, I snapped this photo. The race is at night, so It can feel very lonely out there. I really wanted to capture the effort of the athlete, but help the viewer feel like they’re there.” Sydney Lewis @sydneylewis.photo
For non-professional photographers using high-end cameras, and anyone with a smartphone or drone or action camera — we have the Amateur category.

“It was a damp and dismal day at The National Hill Climb Championship 2023 in the English Lake District but the spectators were out in force and cowbells echoed around the fells, a good effort from all!” Darren Athersmith @da_sportsphotos

“Crit races involve an entire neighborhood for the day, and I love that there is an opportunity to not only wander a course and cheer but take a break and support the local businesses. I popped in to check out the view from this restaurant and ran into this photographer that was having a quick meal while still watching the race (camera is hidden under the pizza. ” Michael Smith @mikeyplaysbass

“Panning Pano. The field at the men’s scratch race, UCI World Championships 2023 in Glasgow ramping up the pace across the back straight.” Jude Bytheway @cyclingbytheway

“Marie Vandecasteele – Binche Chimay Binche femmes – Binche – BELGIQUE” Nancy Badoux @nbx_cycling_pictures

“Explore, ride, enjoy. Gravel adventures can take you to beautiful places, where you wouldn’t have been otherwise. Thank you bike for taking me to this amazing place in the Italian mountains.” Stefano Colombo @cyclingshoots

“Astana rider – Gianmarco Garofoli – passing Pinot Virage during Il Lombardia 2023. Cycling with the support of Pinot’s fans was truly emotional!” Agata Gulbierz @agagulbierz

“Donostia Klasikoa ’23 – I always find funny the complete lack of awareness of some people standing by the roadside on World Tour races, watching a bunch of youngsters on carbon bikes passing by at 50kmh. Certainly a rider all dressed in white with a rainbow jersey on would draw their attention, even though the look in their eyes reveals that they don’t know they just saw Messi on a bike.” Dimitris Maris @itsall.abt

“A patron using one of 5 community benches at the “Iowa City Bike Library” – our local community bike shop. Patrons are taught to work on their own bikes that they borrow or buy from the library. Bikes are donated and rebuilt by volunteers to be repurposed for those in need of a bike for transportation and/or recreation. We teach community members of all ages, genders, and races to work on their bikes, ride their bikes on organized rides, and to connect with an inclusive community of bike riders.” Ren Stinson @drrenjamin

“As long as I breathe, I attack. Winning or Losing, nothing sums up Pogacar’s TDF better and nothing entertained the fans more and there’s no better place to do it than the cobbled roads of Paris” Chris Wallis @wallisphotos

“Matthew Sterling of Colorado Mesa University rounds the final berm before dropping into Captain Jack’s infamous rock garden at the 2023 Pagan Pedal, a collegiate downhill race hosted by Western Colorado University at Crested Butte Bike Park. Sterling would go on to win this race with a gap of 4.0 seconds over second place.” Forrest Cole @fcole_bikez
