For 12 Years I have been coming to the Tour Down Under with local favourite Patrick Jonker winning the race back in 2004.
This year another local would win.
Maybe not the fairy tale win most were hoping for with Cadel Evans racing his last Tour Down Under, but team mate Rohan Dennis would take honour’s.
A more than worthy recipient after his last minute attack in the final 300 metres of stage 3 and then holding off Richie Porte’s Willunga Hill attack to hold onto the lead by 2 seconds.
This year the weather was nice, the crowds were large and the racing was exciting… This all adds up to a great week. The inclusion of the Santos Women’s Tour only adds to the week.
Until next year Adelaide…
