Together with the team at Rouleur magazines, we are pleased to announce our Judges for the 2022 Mark Gunter Photographer of the Year Awards. We bring together the skill, expertise and experience of a diverse range of art curators and pro tour cycling photographers to judge both the Professional and Amateur categories.
With no further ado, I introduce you to; Antonio Colombo, Susanna Brown, Veronique Rolland, James Startt, and Sean Hardy.
ANTONIO COLOMBO
Antonio Colombo is synonymous with cycling, being part of Columbus and Cinelli for over 50 years. And Antonio is no stranger to art and photography, as the owner of a prestigious contemporary art gallery that he founded in 1998, in Milano.
Antonio brings a passion for cycling and a passion for art — a perfect match for the Mark Gunter Photographer of the Year awards. We are delighted Antonio is a judge in 2022.
SUSANNA BROWN
Susanna Brown is is a photography curator, writer, and lecturer, most notably from the V&A, and the National Portrait Gallery in London.
Susanna has produced countless exhibitions and publications in some of the worlds most prestigious art institutions in the world.
We welcome Susanna to the team and look forward to seeing her shortlist from a new perspective.

VERONIQUE ROLLAND
Veronique Rolland is a contemporary artist focussing on nature and the environment, in both still and moving mediums. As a graduate of MA Photography of London, she went on to win the prestigious Sproxton Award for Photography in 2014.
Veronique’s work is housed at the National Portrait Gallery and the V&A, both London, and the Kandinsky Library in Paris. We are so pleased to have Veronique on the team.

JAMES STARTT
James Startt’s experience as a cycling photographer and now in his fourth decade — having photographed every Tour de France since 1990, he’s seen a lot.
James won the Gold Medal in the 2021 World Sports Photography Awards, has had his images published in countless well known cycling publications, he is now part of the Rouleur team.

SEAN HARDY
Sean Hardy is a professional cycling photographer who got his start with Rouleur magazine, and has gone on to take incredibly powerful images in the cycling world.
Sean won the 2021 Mark Gunter Photographer of the Year Awards with his moving image of Lotto Kepecky, one that added a new dimension to the world of cycling photography and these awards. Welcome to the judging panel Sean.
